JUST like the Spice Girls before them, Little Mix are doing their best to spread girl power.
The girl band won the 2011 UK series of The X Factor and share management with One Direction.
“Little Mix is friendship first and foremost. It is empowerment and confidence,” said member Jade Thirlwall.
“We like to think that through our music we can make our fans a bit more confident about themselves.
“We just try to show people it is okay to be yourself and it is okay to be a bit different.”
Leigh-Anne Pinnock added: “It is about girls sticking together as well. You hear too much about bitchiness and girls just not sticking with each other, we are so tight as four girls and we hope we represent that.”
Little Mix will perform on The X Factor Australia tonight and say it’s a daunting prospect to return to the franchise that made them stars.
The girls will be debuting their third single on X Factor tonight.
They’ll debut their new single, Love Me Like You, before next month’s release of their third studio album, Get Weird.
“Obviously we are from the show and we’ve got to go back on and prove why we won, so no pressure,” laughed Thirlwall.
While this is the girls’ third visit to Australia, they’ve yet to tour here and intend to do so in the new year.
